Dwelling Inventory of Features & Fixtures
This pre-populated tool will help you recall the fixtures and decorative elements of
the home structure to expedite the recovery process and maximize the benefits
of your dwelling insurance coverage.
After a disaster, especially a total loss, it can be difficult for a homeowner to remember the details of the fixtures, finishes, and features that existed inside the home, especially if it has been completely destroyed.
For insurance claim purposes, an adjuster needs to know specific details of how the home was constructed, the type and quality of materials used, and the replacement costs in order to create an accurate estimate of the replacement value. These details include identifying items like the type of floor coverings, window treatments, plumbing fixtures, countertops, built-in appliances, light fixtures, alarm or sound systems, custom woodwork, wallpaper, and so forth.
In an effort to help homeowners expedite the claim process and maximize their recovery, we created The Dwelling Inventory of Features & Fixtures which can be downloaded free-of-charge.
Similar to our Personal Property Memory Jogger, this tool is a pre-populated Excel spreadsheet broken down into a room-by-room format. Once downloaded, you have the option to delete items that may not apply to you and/or add items that may not appear in the list.
For people who have lost everything and need help remembering details about how their home was built and features it contained, the Dwelling Inventory of Features & Fixtures is a truly valuable asset.
